Royal Resolution
WHEREAS, From time to time, we take note of certain extraordinary individuals whom we wish to recognize for their valued contribution to the success and progress of society, and to publicly acknowledge their endeavors, which have enhanced our social calendars; and WHEREAS, Queen Colleen and King Angelo are justly proud to pay tribute to the Krewe of Beverwyck for their devotion and outstanding contributions to the restaurant and tavern, brewing, distilling, vintners and other "home-grown" industries of upstate New York; and WHEREAS, the Krewe of Beverwyck first came to prominence in 1996 at a party at Tracy Berger's house on Dove Street, when Queen Deb chose Eric to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 1997, at a party at Colleen & Eric's, Queen Jenny chose Mic to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 1998, at a party at Mother Earth's Cafe, Queen Joanna chose Jim to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 1999, at a party at Colleen & Eric's, King Don chose Maureen to serve as his consort; and WHEREAS, in 2000, at a party at Nancy & Don's, Queen Deb chose James to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 2001, at a party at James & Maureen's, Queen Nancy chose Clancy to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 2002, at a party at Becka & Clancy's, Queen Colleen chose Angelo to serve as her consort; and WHEREAS, in 2002, Queen Colleen and King Angelo have hosted the Stoopathon, several cookouts, the Race for the Cure brunch, a Halloween Party, a Boxing Day party, and taken part in much additional revelry; and WHEREAS, the Krewe of Beverwyck will increase by at least two this year, thanks to the efforts of Alice & Jeffrey and Amy & John; and WHEREAS, the Krewe of Beverwyck and that loveable jester Jim Clancy are at least partially responsible for the, how shall I say, "hooking up" of Jim & Elizabeth; and WHEREAS, the Krewe of Beverwyck was a member of the power-sharing committee set up after the Sunningdale Agreement in December 1973, and helped to shape the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985, which for the first time gave Dublin a limited say in the affairs of Northern Ireland (just kidding); and WHEREAS, tomorrow, the Krewe of Beverwyck will be a towering example for party people everywhere of the price that must be paid for overindulgence; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Royal gathering pause in its deliberations to pay tribute to the Krewe of Beverwyck for their devotion and outstanding contributions to the fun-loving society of the greater tri-city area; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the next Monarchs when they are presented later this evening.
